    Water in an earthen Pot

    Q. – Water in an earthen pot remains cold even in summer. Why?

    Ans – As we know that earthen pot is porous. Water kept in earthen pot comes on outer surface of the pot because of its tiny pores. 

    Water on surface gets evaporated. For evaporation it needs heat. It absorbs partially heat from atmosphere and partially from water in pot and get evaporated. Continous absorption of heat from water in pot makse it cool.

    Only one character in 1st Filial

    Q - Only one character of parents is expressed in 1st filial generation. Why?

    In hereditary cross only one character is expressed outwardly in the individual of 1st filial generation because all individuals of 1st filial genrations are hybrid. It means all of them contains both dominant and recessive factor of a contrasting character. 

    According to Law of dominance or, 1st law of heredity dominant character is expressed outwardly even in presence of its allele. That’s why only dominant character or, only one character is expressed outwardly in 1st filial generation.

    Two bodies of different masses dropped from same height strike the ground at same time. Why?

    As we know that acceleration due to gravity doesn’t depend upon mass of objects.

    Two bodies even of different masses dropped from same height are accelerated at same rate and having same initial velocity i. e. 0 m/s (being dropped). Because of same initial velocity and same rate of acceleration they get same velocity in a particular time. That’s why they take equal time to cover equal distance and strike the ground at same time.

    What is Hemophilia?

    Hemophilia is a disease caused by lack of Platelets. In this disease blood fails to clot. That’s why even a simple mechanical injury can become fatal for hemophilic patient.

    Note – This is a heredity disease. It happens only to male not to female.

    An anaemic patient can’t do hard work. Why?

    In an anaemic patient, there is a lack of R. B. C. or, Haemoglobin which carries oxygen from lungs to cells. Oxygen is necessary to produce energy in cell to perform work. 

    Because of lack of R. B. C. required amount of oxygen can’t be supplied and not able to produce required amount of energy. That’s why an anaemic patient can’t do hard work.
